Senior Automation Test Engineer (C#)

My client is seeking an experienced Senior Automation Test Engineer to support a number of large-scale technology initiatives. This contract position will suit someone who enjoys working across both strategic test planning and hands-on automation delivery within fast-moving enterprise environments.

The successful candidate will play a key role in shaping automation practices, supporting quality governance, and collaborating closely with technical and business stakeholders throughout the delivery lifecycle.

What You’ll Be Doing

• Contributing to overall test governance and delivery oversight
• Defining and implementing scalable automation approaches across projects
• Working closely with functional and automation testing teams to ensure quality objectives are met
• Collaborating with engineering and project teams to assess tooling and framework requirements
• Coordinating testing activities, setting delivery targets, and monitoring progress
• Providing clear status reporting, risk identification, and escalation management
• Supporting teams through challenging delivery timelines with a practical, solutions-focused approach
• Engaging with senior stakeholders and delivery teams to promote quality standards
• Assisting with automation scripting and execution when required

Experience Required

• Strong background delivering automation testing solutions within enterprise-scale environments
• Proven experience building and maintaining UI and API automation frameworks
• Hands-on coding experience using C# or Java for automated test development
• Solid REST API testing experience
• Exposure to BDD or ATDD delivery approaches, including service mocking and contract testing
• Experience working with source control and modern CI/CD pipelines
• Strong understanding of software delivery methodologies including Agile and Hybrid models
• Comfortable mentoring team members and contributing to continuous improvement initiatives

• Hybrid working model based in Dublin
• Initial 6-month daily rate contract
